I am the curator of this website and an incurable “Island Addict.”
The original intention behind starting this platform was simple: I was once that kind of tourist who only went to the outlying islands just to take photos, buy some mochi, and then head home. It wasn’t until I sat in a traditional underground house on Orchid Island (Lanyu), listening to the elders tell stories, and saw the millennium-old coral giants in the deep waters off Green Island, that I realized—we had profoundly misunderstood Taiwan’s outlying islands.
These are not just “places to play in the water”; they are pearls floating on the Pacific Ocean, possessing world-class ecology, unique Austronesian culture, and deeply etched historical memories.
At “Taiwan Island Roamer,” you won’t find generic, day-by-day itineraries.
